This is a great list of quotes. Thanks for writing.
Namaste.
Great hub - education is so important and sadly there is much to say we have dumbed down much of the system. "Do not train children to learning by force and harshness, but direct them to it by what amuses their minds, so that you may be better able to discover with accuracy the peculiar bent of the genius of each." Plato - this reminds me of Marie Montessori

Nice to meet you. :)
Enjoyed all of these - there is great truth in most of them, some, not so much - unfortunately there are some who can learn, but still maintain their dogged determination to manipulate truth to support their preconceived beliefs - I appreciate all the work that you put into gathering these - regards, B.

Thank you for compiling and putting this list here! There is no more important activity than growing through learning and it is great to see so many people's thoughts on the subject. The more we perfect how we think and learn (and to recognize the many ways we are redirected AWAY from free thinking and motivated to NOT learn) the better we will all be! Very cool hub.
